Founded by Ellis McGill, E M Engineering Services Ltd has built a reputation for excellence in the concrete industry.

Ellis’s journey began in his mid-teens as an apprentice mechanic working on trucks and buses. His passion for engineering led him to a mechanical engineering position at a local concrete manufacturing facility in Catterick Garrison. Over the next few decades, Ellis worked his way up to Engineering Director, leading the company through various ownership changes.

In 2005, when the factory where Ellis had dedicated most of his career was set to close, he took the bold step of starting his own business. In 2006, E M Engineering Services was born, initially specialising in dismantling and shipping concrete plants across the globe, including as far as Australia.
​
As the company grew, we expanded into offering a range of services, including plant installation, concrete manufacturing machine servicing, breakdown support, and maintenance. Over time, we branched into new industries such as mortar manufacturing, refractories, glass, and insulation.

In 2023, E M Engineering Services became the official UK agent for Haarup, marking a new chapter in our commitment to delivering high-quality equipment and services to our customers. With over 40 years of experience with Haarup, Ellis recognised the company’s superior, versatile, and reliable machinery, and knew that this partnership would further enhance our ability to serve our clients.
